You're likely familiar with Black Friday, but do you know about Small Business Saturday, Flats at Bethesda Avenue? First celebrated on November 27, 2010, and backed by American Express, this nationwide initiative is an effort to promote small shops, restaurants, and other independently owned businesses across the country.
If you'd like to partake in the event and direct your shopping dollars toward the local economy, you can do just that on Saturday, Dec. 28! That's the date of this year's Small Business Saturday, and many Bethesda Row businesses are participating with a Small Business Saturday Shop Crawl. Among the incentives to be offered? Branded Bethesda Row shopping bags for the first 250 shoppers, plus sweet treats and discounts at participating retailers. Many merchants will offer gifts with purchase, including Le Creuset, Secolari, Pink Palm, and Capital Teas.
Better still, in many cases, the promos offered during Small Business Saturday will overlap with Black Friday discounts still being offered by retailers like Sassanova and Urban Country!
