R Family Kitchen and Bar Redefines Comfort Food

The Roche family named R Family Kitchen and Bar after their own clan, and not just because they're running the show. The recently opened eatery showcases the foods the family ate growing up. From traditional Midwestern comfort food to European and Latin creations, the roster of dishes has something for everyone.

Share a few "tapitas" (small snacks) with friends, like the shrimp with garlic confit and the Venezuelan fried cheese sticks, a.k.a. "tequeños". You can also dig into a dozen of the signature twice-cooked wings with embellishments like house-made barbecue sauce, sriracha-infused honey butter, or Old Bay seasoning. Complement the bites with a Cuba Libre, a cocktail composed of Venezuelan Diplomatic Rum, angostura bitters, cola, and lime. Then dig into a plate of house-made bolognese over pasta, the Cuban roasted chicken, or the pan-roasted Black Angus rib eye steak.
